Six Ways to Get Comfort

Six Ways to Get Comfort – #EdenComfortFood Special

We often hear people say “I hate stress”. But no matter how hard we try, stress is inevitable. It can exist in so many situations that we deal with on a daily basis may it be at work, or even our personal lives. In some cases, stress can be a good indication that something good is going to happen. Think of how a rocket is launched. According to an article released by How Things Fly, a lot of thrust, which means force, needs to be produced in order to push a rocket into space. The bigger the rocket, the bigger the amount of thrust is needed. Same goes with our everyday life. The bigger the vision, the more push is needed to carry it out.

So instead of avoiding stress, let’s find ways on how to handle it and get comfort once in a while. Allow me to share some proven ways to get comfort after a long and tiring day:
1. Practice proper breathing.
Breathing allows oxygen to flow within our mind and body so that both can function well. Breathing also helps us get rid of toxins that deteriorate our cells. Taking deep, slow breaths tells our brain that everything is okay, which then calms our entire body. Guest-Jelley suggested going through the following to practice proper breathing:

Using your dominant hand, “make a U-shape with your thumb and pointer finger.
If you’re using your right hand, press your right thumb into your right nostril, gently closing it. Inhale through your left nostril.
Next, press your right index finger against your left nostril, closing it, as you release your thumb from the right nostril – allowing yourself to exhale through the right nostril.
Repeat by inhaling through the right nostril, then closing it and exhaling through the left nostril.
Continue like this for at least 10 full breaths.”

2. Get a massage.
According to medical experts, stress can cause poor blood circulation which then contributes to further discomfort. Getting a massage will definitely help you get immediate comfort as this helps make blood circulate better. If you can’t go to the nearest spa, dialing a home-service provider will help. There’s a lot of home massage services being offered and can be found in google.
3.  Listen to positive music.
It is always important to feed our minds with positive thoughts because it produces positive behavior which then produces positive outcome. Listening to positive music trains our minds to look at the brighter side of things despite of how bad our situations may be.
4. Pray.
In a song by Kari Jobe entitled Singin’ Over Me, there is a line that says, “There is Freedom in Surrender”. When the load is too heavy and you can’t handle it anymore, it always helps to just let go and let God. I always believe that help is there when you ask for it and sometimes, God is just waiting for us to tell him, “Lord, I can’t do this anymore. Can you help me?” so he can fully take over and let you witness a miracle to happen. Pray hard. It works.
5. Cry.
Crying does not make a person weak. It allows you to unload yourself of the burden so you can lighten up and be more ready to face the challenges ahead.
6. Grab some real good comfort food.
We always hear the words “comfort food”. And I am sure we all agree that good food does not only calm the stomach but the spirit as well. Satisfying our taste buds reminds us that there is still something good to look forward to and not everything is bad after all. It is treating ourselves for all our accomplishments and fuels us to do better in times we need to work harder.
When we speak of comfort food, usually, mom’s home-cooked meals always come first. But in reality, our moms may not always be there with us. Good thing, there will always be something that will remind us of their love such as good food that is synonymous to their warm hugs.  Thank God there’s now Eden Comfort Food Maker created to provide comfort for Filipinos! It produces variety of warm and cheesy meals depending on the person’s mood and need. Imagine, you can get freshly-cooked Cheesy Chicken Adobo for only Php50.00! Whether you’re a regular employee needing a break from demands of office life, or a stranded passenger in the bus terminal waiting for the next available trip, the Eden Comfort Food Maker can cook up a hot, simple dish in just two minutes.

We were blessed to have witnessed the launch of this amazing initiative last May 15, 2018. Soon, the Eden Comfort Food Maker will be available in business districts and other areas within Metro Manila. Below are some highlights of the event:

Mondelez launched #EdenComfortFood as their new campaign with the aim to allow Filipinos to get access to easy-to-prepare comfort food and make it available to working Filipinos.
