We learned about Baby Company’s Diaper Deals Drive campaign which runs from September 1 to 30, 2018 in all Baby Company stores nationwide. Basically, it encourages parents like us to stock up on diapers and pay it forward. How?

Based on the mechanics stated in their posters, Mom Card users can enjoy savings on special bundles from trusted diaper brands. Just purchase at least PhP 1500 worth of diapers in a single receipt and you get a PhP 100 Gift Certificate courtesy of Baby Company. But, what’s more exciting is this! You get to pay it forward as your purchase also lets you donate Php 100 worth of diapers to charities supported by SM Foundation.

It really sounded exciting for me and my husband Bryce so we decided to head on to the Baby Company store near us and join the drive knowing that our purchase will help support a great cause. However, the practical parents in us told ourselves to hold our excitement a little bit and see how we can utilize this promo to save up on diaper costs.

Here are the things we did in order to make sure we don’t just stock up diapers which will end up being unused:
1. Check Existing Diaper Inventory.

We checked existing count of our baby’s remaining diapers per size category. Our baby Zed is 7 months old and currently on his last few pieces of Small-sized diapers. He has a lot of Medium-sized diapers already which is already enough until he reaches the weight required to move up to Large-sized ones. So, we opted to focus on purchasing Large and XL ones. Had we not checked our existing inventory, we would have bought another set of medium diapers which will then result to overstocking.
2. Create A Diaper Forecast.

Anticipate the number of diapers your baby will be needing the moment he finish consuming all those in your existing inventory. Project how much diaper he will need on a daily basis based on his current behavior but also anticipate that as he grows older, he will need fewer diapers as older babies usually has less urination frequency.
3. Compute, Then Set A Budget.

Once you are done with your forecast, compute how much your potential costs will be and then, stick to a budget. In our case, we decided not to go above and beyond the PhP 1500 threshold required for the Diaper Deals Drive campaign. We allocated around 70% of our budget on Large-sized diapers then 30% on XL-sized ones and it’s because Zed may be needing less diapers when he starts potty training. This is true based on our experience with Zela, our 3-year old daughter who now uses diapers only when we are going out on our regular weekend family date.

When we arrived at the Baby Company, SM Aura branch on September 8, afternoon, we got so excited seeing that diapers from participating brands like Mamy Poko, Huggies, Lampein, Super Twins and Goo.n are on SALE!

However, we felt a little nanghihinayang that Pampers is not included as it is Baby Zed’s current brand. But of course, we still want to extend some support on the great cause behind this campaign which helps children from different charitable institutions so we opened up our hearts to try another diaper brand. My only concern is the hiyang factor ’cause as what most parents know, not all diapers are suitable for our baby’s skin type and wrong diapers for our baby can give him rashes or skin irritation.

We have not tried any of the participating diaper brands yet, but we decided to go with Mamy Poko due to the many good feedback we heard from our friends who are also parents regarding this brand. So, it’s a calculated risk on our end to go with Mamy Poko.

We felt so fulfilled after making our purchase as we know the amount we paid for it goes a long way in helping other children. But it is an even greater feeling when we received our free P100 Gift Certificate when we presented our Mom Card. We did not have to spend extra to extend a donation yet Baby Company is so gracious to give back to us instantaneously!

The Diaper Deals Drive continues until September 30. This is a perfect opportunity to replenish your diaper stocks and store for the future. Follow Baby Company’s social media accounts below so you can also get updated on their latests offerings:
