Simple and Fun Activities that Keep Families Together

According to a Polish proverb, “You have a lifetime to work, but children are only young once.”

Whether we are in Poland or anywhere in the world, this statement holds true. This is why us parents really play an important role in molding our children’s character during the first sever years of their life. Child Encyclopedia states that the emotional, social and physical development of young children has a direct effect on their overall development and on the adult they will become. That is why understanding the need to invest in very young children is so important, so as to maximize their future well-being.

This is the reason why family bonding is very important. Our family believes that spending time with our spouse and especially our children should be a priority over work and other extra activities we may ever have in our life. For our kids, LOVE is spelled as T.I.M.E. as it is easy to say I Love You but will take a lot of TIME to prove it.

Family bondings need not be expensive. There are many ways to spend quality time with our kids. Below are some of the simple yet fun activities that will surely help strengthen our bond with our kids:

1. Play games together.

They say that if you want to get to know a person better, play a game with him. Playing games together not only creates happy memories but also reveals a lot about the personality of each family member. That way, you will get to know more about your child’s strengths that they can leverage on and weaknesses for you to help them deal with.

2. Create something together.

Creating simple crafts not only allows us to bond with our child. It also lets us teach them how to be resourceful and creative.

Is your family into sweets? Making Cupcakes together is another great bonding activity! This photo of ours was taken in the Brownie Camp 2018 Cupcake Station where we got to create our own cupcake frosting. Try this at home with pre-made cupcakes, frosting and small candies and marshmallows available.

3. Eat together.

When we attend gatherings or celebrations, isn’t food one of the most remembered and talked about? Sometimes, the easiest way to gather family members together in one place is to announce “eating time!”. Family bondings no matter how simple become more memorable when there is yummy food on the table. Food is also a great conversation starter.

Care for some desserts? How about this box of Brownies Unlimited classics?

One of the things that are common between me and Bryce is our love for desserts. When we speak of desserts, brownies and cupcakes are on top of our list. I remember how Bryce shared with me that during his college years, he would stop by a Brownies Unlimited shop near his school to buy some brownies and sylvannas and it’s such a great coincidence that I used to do the same as I love their sambos and brownies too!

Brownies Unlimited is now celebrating it’s 30th year but some things really never grow old despite the number of years that passed by. In fact, we were able to pass the same love for their products on to our kids when we attended the Brownie Camp 2018 at the SM Mall of Asia Atrium last September 29, 2018.

Brownies Unlimited has made our weekend family bonding sweeter with fun and rewarding activities that were meant to make each member of our family share an enjoyable moment with each other. We were able to play interactive activities with our kids through the giant Memory Board Game, Pop The Balloon Challenge, Make Your Own hat and Cupcake making.

Make Brownies Unlimited part of your family bonding as well. You will get P30 off for every P200 worth of single-receipt purchase from October 1 to November 15 in all their stores. Don’t forget to mark your calendars for their birthday on October 19 because Brownies Unlimited is offerong their box of 4 for only P30 from 2pm to 5pm on that special day!
